A 10-year-old by Born To Sea out of the Montjeu mare Je T'adore, A Wave Of The Sea (9/1) continued his love affair with Kilbeggan when coasting to victory in the Belvedere House & Gardens Handicap Chase over three miles, two furlongs.

Recording his fourth win at the Co Westmeath track, the Shane Broderick-trained gelding cruised into the lead after the second-last and jockey Charlie O'Dwyer never had to move on him as he drew 12 lengths clear of 5/2 favourite Charlie Luciano

Frank Berry, racing manager of the winning owner J P McManus, reported “He likes the place and I’d say the bit of juice in the ground tonight was a big help to him, he really enjoyed it and jumped well.

“It’s great for Shane. He does a great job with him, freshens him up. I’m delighted for him.

“He’ll tip away for the rest of the season and he’ll probably be back here again next season.”
