Galway's opener was the Gerry Coyne Memorial Irish EBF Beginners Chase over two miles, six furlongs and dual hurdles winner Chart Topper easily got off the mark on his second starts over fences.

Fifth over a shorter trip at this course earlier in the month, the Walk In The Park gelding was prominent throughout and stretched clear on the long run from the last to win by 17 lengths from Will Do .

The 10/11 favourite is trained for Aisling Byrne, Paul Raleigh and Matthew Cunningham by Willie Mullins.

"It was a big improvement fitness-wise and jumping-wise from the last day and he did everything right today,” said rider Brian Hayes.

”He handled that ground well, which gives us another option going forward.

"He has better form over these long distances and hopefully he'll be there for the big festivals."
