Chipsrdown found plenty to sweep home in division one of the 1878 At 3Arena Handicap over 1m1f in Leopardstown. William F Browne and Akashaa were involved in a good tussle with a furlong to travel, but Chipsrdown was winding up for a challenge behind them in third.

She picked up strongly for Andrew Slattery and gunned them down in the closing stages, From there, the 7/2 favourite won going away by a length and a half from Half Nutz (8/1) who got up for second close home. William F Browne, who drifted right out to 25/1 from 10s, was half a length away in third.

Trainer Andy Slattery said: "She deserved it. I nearly wasn't going to run her, only the lads are from Swords, in Dublin. I thought the ground was gone too fast for her.

"She travelled away there. We thought she'd win in Killarney one day and the ground was quick and she never rose a gallop.

"Probably the visors are helping. We'll step her up to a mile-and-a-quarter now probably as well. I'd say we won't run her on that ground again. We got away with it this time."
