Clancy Avenue ready for Newmarket test Richard Hannon's Victrix Ludorum aims to complete a sales race hat-trick in the valuable £100,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Sprint at Newmarket on Wednesday. The three-year-old picked up over £55,000 when registering her first career win in the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Fillies' Median Auction Stakes at Newmarket in September, and returned to Headquarters a month later to win the £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2yo Fillies' Trophy, earning another £166,000. She was well beaten on her final juvenile appearance in heavy ground at Newbury, but assistant trainer Richard Hannon junior hopes she can develop into a contender for the Qipco 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. He said: "She is in good form and has already won two of the Tattersalls Millions races so it would be nice to go for the hat-trick. "We are hoping she is a 1000 Guineas filly. The Tattersalls Millions Sprint is worth more than any of the Guineas trials so that is why we have gone for this race." Hannon has two other contenders in Amberley Heights and Tamayuz Star. The latter won the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Median Auction Trophy last year before finishing fifth behind Ghurair in the £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2yo Trophy. "He is in good form, six furlongs should suit and he should go close," said Hannon jnr. Others to note include Mick Channon's Cornwallis and Molecomb winner Bungle Inthejungle, Mark Johnston's recent Lingfield scorer Limit Up and Tommy Stack's Irish raider Clancy Avenue. The latter was last seen finishing second behind Group One winner Gordon Lord Byron at Dundalk. "He seems well and he's had a couple of runs on the all-weather this year. Let's hope the ground keeps drying out," said Stack's son and assistant Fozzy. "He ran quite well there in October but probably didn't get the trip in that seven furlong race and the ground was soft too. I think it was a combination of the two." Limit Up has a bit to find on ratings but Johnston is happy to let him take his chance. "That is a little bit of a shot in the dark. the trip and the ground will be fine for him, but on ratings he has got a lot to find," said Johnston. "When you're qualified for these races, the incentive is there to run."
