Claudio set for Derby Trial on Wednesday Aidan O'Brien's chances of victory in the Investec Derby Trial at Epsom on Wednesday rest with Claudio Monteverdi. The son of Galileo was fourth on his first couple of appearances but stepped forward significantly from his return to land a Leopardstown maiden with considerable ease. John Gosden will rely on well-bred filly So Mi Dar to deliver him a second straight success in the Epsom race. Having won the mile-and-a-quarter race with Christophermarlowe 12 months ago, the Newmarket handler will turn to the daughter of Dubawi, who is out of triple Group One winner Dar Re Mi, to repeat that success and follow up her debut win at Wolverhampton in October. Richard Hannon is double-handed in the race after declaring both Humphrey Bogart and Viren's Army. Andrew Balding will saddle Kingston Kurrajong in his pursuit of a third victory in the event, while Newmarket trainer Charlie Fellowes will have his first runner in the race in the form of recent Kempton winner Prince Of Arran. The field is completed by the Mark Johnston-trained Beaverbrook, Top Beak from the yard of Hughie Morrison and Percy Street, who is the representative of Karl Burke.
