Clean sweep for Solomon Coop Solomon Coop scooped top honours on his first run for owner/trainer Eamonn O’Connell at Dundalk today, with the recent bargain-buy also bringing up winning bets (16s to 9/1) in the Book Online @ DundalkStadium.com Maiden. Previously placed twice for trainer Natalia Lupini, the four-year-old was bought by O’Connell’s son Eoin for just 1,400gns at an online sale last December and today collected €6,600 in prizemoney. Previously a keen-going front-runner, jockey Killian Leonard today anchored Solomon Coop behind the leaders, with the four-year-old finishing nicely to score by a half-length from Winsome. Trainer O’Connell reported “we said we’d drop him back into a maiden as they are weak enough at this time of the year up here. He did it well and was a cheap purchase. “We bought him on an online sale and thought there was a bit to work with, so took a chance. He's a good, sound horse who had a bit of form and we just decided to drop him in (behind the leaders) today. He was making the running a lot on the last few runs, so it worked and he travelled well. "Hopefully he’ll keep going." Solomon Coop is the private secretary of the British Crown, in the TV series Taboo. Quotes from Michael Graham
