Clonmel meeting rescheduled The Clonmel fixture beaten by the weather on Thursday has been rescheduled for Wednesday December 16. With parts of the course unfit for racing due to waterlogging, and with more rain forecast, the decision to draw stumps was made without haste. Classy mare Vroum Vroum Mag was due to feature in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Hurdle over an extended two miles. Clerk of the course Lorcan Wyer told At The Races: "Parts of the course aren't too bad but in other parts you'd lose your wellies and the problem is inconsistency. "We wouldn't get through the day, as we speak we could only jump two fences. A huge factor is that the rain isn't forecast to cease until 9pm." Entries for the new card will close at noon on Thursday December 10, with final declarations to be made at 10am on Wednesday December 15. The same programme of races will be used, although as a result of the addition to the calendar, the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase at Thurles on Sunday December 20 will now be two miles and four furlongs instead of two miles and two furlongs. Officials at Sedgefield have called a precautionary inspection for 8am on raceday morning ahead of Friday's card. Rain totalling three millimetres had fallen by lunchtime on Thursday, and with further rain forecast on already heavy ground before clearing, clerk of the course Sophie Barton is keen to monitor conditions.
