Jessica Harrington recorded her fourth winner of the new season as her Clouded Thoughts took the Supermacs Drive Thru Beginners Chase on his second start over fences under Mark Bolger.

The 6yo son of Definite Article made his chasing debut at Down Royal earlier this month where he fell at the second in the race won by Devil’s Elbow.

Before that the Howard Spooner owned gelding won his bumper on his fourth start at Clonmel last April and then finished second in a winners bumper at Wexford in May.

However he then failed to score on five subsequent efforts over hurdles.

Sent off at 25/1 today he tracked the leaders early on and was fifth before the straight.

10/1 shot Lord Ben under Andrew Lynch travelled strongly to overtake Rockshandy for the lead on the run to the second last while Clouded Thoughts was being scrubbed along in third.

However Clouded Thoughts moved up alongside Lord Ben at the second last and got away quicker over it.

He then gained a couple of lengths over that rival and maintained that advantage all the way to the line to score by two and three parts of a length.

Rockshandy under Moira McElligott was a beaten third when unseating his rider at the last. Forjoetheplumber stayed on well to take third for Paddy and Jimmy Mangan five and a half lengths back at 12/1 while the 11/4 favourite Anshan Dream was a further half a length back in fourth under Barry Geraghty for Adrian Maguire. Bullock Harbour the better fancied stable mate of the winner at 4/1, could only manage sixth under Robbie Power.
