Sizing Codelco is the sole representative from Ireland in the Racing Post Henry VIII Novices' Chase at Sandown on Saturday.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained six-year-old reverted to fences after a spell hurdling to revive his confidence with a smooth success at Listowel in late September.

He had got off to an inauspicious start over the bigger obstacles 12 months ago when falling five out at Punchestown in a race won by Valseur Lido.

Though he was second at Navan to Clarcam, a Grade One winner since, he did not satisfy connections at Leopardstown last Christmas and his three runs after that were over hurdles before he got his jumping act together last time.

"He's a horse we've always thought a lot of," said De Bromhead.

"He was disappointing over fences last year so we went back hurdling with him and then he won his beginners' chase in Listowel. He's a nice horse and we'll see whether he's up to that level."
