Concorde set for Killarney take-off Silver Concorde is the star turn on day two of the July Festival meeting at Killarney and the former Cheltenham Festival winner should get back to winning ways in the Celtic Steps At Killarney Racecourse (Q.R.) Race. The seven-year-old gelding enjoyed a stellar bumper campaign last year when landing the Weatherbys Champion Bumper and also filling the runner-up spot behind Shaneshill at Punchestown. The son of Dansili justified short odds on his only previous outing on the level when taking a Navan maiden last autumn but subsequently failed to really take to jumping in two hurdle starts. However, being trained by Dermot Weld for Dr Ronan Lambe, it would seem highly likely that he will be part of the powerful Rosewell House team at Galway in a few weeks' time, and his performance here will be closely monitored with that in mind. The Bourn Vincent Memorial Handicap Chase is the feature event on this mixed card, and Shanahan's Turn adds a touch of class as the top-weight in this €30,000 event over two miles and a furlong. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding rather lost his way after taking the Grade Two Dobbins Florida Pearl Novice Chase at Punchestown last November, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on over this shorter trip. Willie Mullins has his summer string in good form having sent out a treble at Sligo on Sunday, and the Grade Two-placed Un Beau Roman will have the invaluable assistance of Ruby Walsh. The Ross Golf Course Handicap has been divided to form an eight-race card, with Lagostovegas looking a solid wager in division one, while Alcock And Brown may follow up a recent Fairyhouse win in division two.
