Confidence-booster in order for Riches Road To Riches bids to salvage something from this year's Galway Festival when he lines up in the At The Races Chase on Sunday. Noel Meade's nine-year-old was a brilliant winner of the Galway Plate in 2014 and was a hot favourite to regain his crown in the Ballybrit feature on Wednesday. But after having made an early mistake, Road To Riches folded tamely from three out and was pulled up - after which it transpired he had been struck into and also lost a shoe. Meade reports Road To Riches none the worse, with connections keen for him to regain his confidence before he is given some time off. "He seems absolutely fine," said the County Meath handler. "He lost a shoe and he got a bit of a bang on his leg. "The vet thought he was slightly lame afterwards, but we couldn't find anything wrong with him. "We were thinking of giving him a break, but Michael (O'Leary, owner) felt it might be an idea to give him a confidence-booster. "We're happy with him so we'll see how we go." With Bryan Cooper sidelined by injury, Davy Russell takes over in the saddle aboard Road To Riches. Meade's charge is joined in the field by three others who ran in the Plate, including runner-up Alelchi Inois and fifth-placed Clarcam. First Lieutenant also lines up, having finished mid-division in the Plate, but he would appear to have a tough task on recent form.
