Conn has Listowel option Princely Conn could head for the Listowel Festival following his excellent effort to finish third in the Galway Hurdle. The Tom Mullins-trained seven-year-old held a narrow lead at the final flight in the hugely valuable handicap, but was caught close home by Clondaw Warrior under an inspired Ruby Walsh and the admirable veteran Hidden Cyclone. Mullins said: "He came out of the race great and we're delighted with him. "I thought jumping the last we were going to go on and win, but it was a master-class from Ruby (Walsh) obviously and we were a little bit unlucky. "I haven't had a chat with the boys (owner JP McManus and racing manager Frank Berry) yet, but as long as he doesn't get too much of a hike we'll probably look at another handicap hurdle in Listowel. "He'll have an easy week or two now and if everything is right I'd say we'll probably head down to Listowel as there is a suitable race there for him. "I just hope the ground stays good as he's not a horse we'd want to be running on soft ground, I'd say."
