Connections Wait On Chief Decision Well Chief continues to please connections but no decision has yet been made as to whether he will take his chance in the totepool Game Spirit Chase at Newbury on February 10.Off the track since defeating old adversary Azertyuiop at Sandown in April 2005, David Pipe's charge could head directly to Cheltenham to contest the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase instead.'Newbury is an option and I think the horse will probably tell us whether or not he should go there,' explained owner David Johnson.'We've given him time to overcome his setback and Timmy was down there the other day to ride him out and he looks a million dollars.'I think I mentioned earlier in the season that if he were to get to Cheltenham, I thought the 8-1 would be an insult.'He's shortened up since then and it wouldn't bother me if he went straight to Cheltenham.'That said, he is fit and well but there is the bounce factor and we'll take that into account with a view to Newbury as it could come back and bite us at Cheltenham.'We shall weigh up all the options and hopefully make the right choice,' he told At The Races.(C) PA Sport
