Cork Racecourse has raised €6,000 for the Irish Injured Jockeys and Mallow Hospital having, for the second year running, donated proceeds of the day's gate receipts to charity.

Today's €5 admission fee was optional and was donated to both funds, with the total being divided equally between the two.

Marketing manager Mary Kelly today stated "5,500 has been raised today and I expect that to rise to 6,000 which is up from 4,000 last year. I'm delighted with the figure."
