Cottie completed a quick big-priced double for Henry de Bromhead when making most in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Handicap Hurdle.

Sent off 14/1, Mike O'Connor's mount led from the second flight of hurdles and stayed on well up the hill to beat Royal Eagle by nine lengths.

After the 20/1 success of All In Montmartre in the previous contest, it was a 314/1 brace for the Knockeen handler.

Robbie Power, representing de Bromhead, said: "It did look competitive for the grade.

"Mikey (O'Connor) used his initiative to lead and he is effective off the front.

"She did (have a good run the last day) and she made a bad mistake at the second-last as well. She might have been closer than that.

"She just got things her own way in front today, Mikey gave her a great ride and she jumped super.

"We will look for something similar.

"Mikey is a very good rider and he is good value for his 5lb claim, and he is getting plenty of opportunities now with this 15 winners or less (rule), so he is making the most of it."
