Cromwell completes Fairyhouse treble Last month’s Velka Pardubicka-winning trainer Gavin Cromwell completed a Fairyhouse treble today, as his My Good Pal (12/1) landed the William Hill Challenge Series Handicap Hurdle (Div I), for amateur jockey Billy Coonan and his family’s Yellow Sticker Syndicate. Sporting yellow colours, the son of Mount Nelson raced prominently throughout and having led at the last, kept on well to score by a half-length from Kayla’s Friend . Cromwell, earlier successful with the Conor Stone-Walsh-ridden Espritroyale and the Keith Donoghue-partnered Bud Fox, reported “it’s been a great day, sure every day you have a treble is a great day. “He was very lucky at the last with a circuit to go, where he stepped at the hurdle but made a good recovery. He was on and off the bridle all the way and has his own ideas about things. He's run well loads of times although he had only one win before day. “He's owned by Billy's(Coonan, jockey) family and they've had good fun with him." Cromwell’s Final Orders has claimed success in the Velka Pardubicka in October, giving the trainer consecutive wins in the world famous race, having gained a breakthrough win with Stumptown in 2025.
