Cromwell on the mark at Wolverhampton Bottleofsmoke made the journey to Wolverhampton worthwhile for trainer Gavin Cromwell, as he ran out a comfortable winner of the Betway Insider Handicap. Formerly trained by Michael O'Callaghan, the four-year-old son of Big Bad Bob joined the Cromwell yard late last year. He was placed twice at Dundalk over the winter months, but made the breakthrough today under Adam Kirby. Sent off the well-backed 15/8 favourite (from 5/2 on-course), he hit the front with two furlongs to race, and soon shot clear, going on to score comfortably by six lengths. The bay victor might be set for a quick return to action, as he is entered in another mile and a half handicap at Dundalk on Friday. Elsewhere on the card Mosman failed to land a significant blow in the Betway Handicap for his Longford based handler Paul Flynn. The 6/1 chance didn’t enjoy the clearest of runs, and he eventually finished sixth under Tom Marquand.
