Curvy recorded her first success at the highest level as she took the EP Taylor Stakes at Woodbine in Canada on Sunday evening.

The David Wachman trained bay has been a revelation this season, winning two handicaps at Navan before recorded group race wins at the Curragh and Royal Ascot respectively.

The daughter of Galileo was third in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh in July while she was fifth on her most recent start in the Flower Bowl at Belmont Park.

Settled towards the rear here she was ridden and made headway through the field from two furlongs out.

She hit the front a furlong from home and kept on well from there to score by a length and half under Ryan Moore.

The Willie McCreery trained Devonshire had little luck in running and she finished a respectable seventh under Patrick Husbands.

Later on the card Ryan Moore doubled-up aboard Cannock Chase in the Grade 1 Pattison Canadian International.

The Michael Stoute trained four-year-old returned to winning form at Newmarket last month, having previously been second to Racing History at Windsor, and he raced in mid-division for much of the mile-and-a-half contest before finding himself shuffled back, a fate which also befell Luca Cumani's Second Step.

But Moore - winning the race for the third consecutive year after Hillstar for Stoute 12 months ago and Joshua Tree for Ed Dunlop - did not panic and weaved his way down the long straight, challenging wide with plenty of horse underneath him.

And he soon put the race to bed, despite hanging to his right in the closing stages.

Up With The Birds took second, with David Simcock's Sheikhzayedroad finishing well for third.

Moore said: "Everything happened nicely, he picked up really well.

"He's a good horse, he's had a few niggly issues this year, but the boss brought him along slowly and I'm delighted he's done the job today."

He added: "I'm very lucky, I get to ride for the best people, I just have to sit out of trouble most of the time and they win. He won easy."
