Cyclone scopes dirty after Leopardstown defeat

Hidden Cyclone scoped dirty after his slightly disappointing run at Leopardstown on Saturday.

Shark Hanlon's seven-year-old made a fine impression on his chasing debut in December, but jumped sketchily at the weekend when third behind Sir Des Champs.

There were, however, extenuating circumstances, and he will be given the chance to set the record straight in the Nas Na Riogh Novice Chase at Naas on February 26th.

Hanlon said: "He wasn't 100% after the race. We had him scoped and he wasn't right, so that explains a lot.

"He didn't jump very well, but they weren't going very fast - the faster they go, the better he jumps.

"The horses aren't kicking at the moment, for one reason or another, but I'm sure they'll come good.

"We'll leave him for a bit and then probably go to Naas in a month's time.

"He's a very good horse and he'll have another big day."
