Delight for Murphy as James lands Greenlands Stakes The Clive Cox trained James's Delight just edged out fellow British raider Lethal Levi to win the Group 2 Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh. Lethal Levi made much of the running before being headed by Vespertilio over a furlong out. The latter filly had no more to offer over 100 yards from the finish, as the former regained the lead under Clifford Lee. However, he was soon headed by James's Delight, who stuck his head out in game fashion to hold on for a narrow short head win. Having had to wait for a run in behind, Big Gossey finished best of all, to take third just a further neck behind the front two. Winning Jockey Oisin Murphy reported: "Clive was very happy with him. The plan was actually to get a bit of cover but, the speed wasn't very fast and he broke well. He is a tough, game horse for very good owners, the Rooney's. "Jason Maguire(Racing Manager) does a top job and it's fantastic they have kept this guy in their colours and, he can pick up valuable prizes like today. (On why the English sprinters dominate) "We generally have quite a lot of them and, the handicap system is quite tough on them. They really have to perform on those big Saturday Class 2 races. This guy came through that system and the guys have done a great job bringing him over here and preparing him for such a big day." Paddy Power went 14/1(from 25/1) James's Delight for Jubilee Stakes.
