The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Big Gossey, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed third, Lethal Levi (GB), ridden by C. Lee, placed second, and Vespertilio (FR), ridden by D
McMonagle, placed fourth, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated that he committed to a gap at the furlong pole that closed from the right and felt it cost him vital momentum and the race. C. Lee stated that his mount hung both ways despite his best efforts, but felt he was clear of Big Gossey and had not caused interference. D. McMonagle stated that his mount had drifted slightly left, was corrected immediately and he also felt he had not caused any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Big Gossey was never in the gap before it closed and that no alteration to the Judge's placings was necessary. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred and therefore took no further action
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Big Gossey, ridden by W.J. Lee, Grand Grey, ridden by J.P. Spencer, and Storm Boy (AUS), ridden by R.L. Moore where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R. L. Moore stated that he was forced to check as he received pressure from his right. W.J. Lee stated that he switched left and did not feel he caused interference. J.P
Spencer stated that his mount drifted left, but he thought he was clear of the horse inside him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J.P. Spencer was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended him for two racedays
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Storm Boy (AUS), trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
