Dettori declares Doyen his easiest King George winner Doyen justified 11/10 favouritism with a brilliant three-length success in the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes under Frankie Dettori, who was winning the prize for a fourth time - one less than trainer Saeed bin Suroor.'This was the easiest King George winner I have ridden,' declared Dettori. 'Daylami won by five lengths but we were off the bridle three out, but I could have won by much further today if I´d wanted. Doyen is the one that travelled best out of all my winners.'The King George is a special race and he´s a special horse, I´ve been nervous all week about this. Now we can say it - he is one of the finest. He was absolutely devastating - unbelievable..'The trouble with riding a good horse like this is that you always think they are going too slow, I wanted to shout at them to tell them to get going.'He can only learn and get better and better. He looks like a monument and is one of the best-looking horses I´ve ridden. He walks round with so much presence.'Godolphin´s racing manager Simon Crisford added: 'I think the key with him is being allowed time to develop both physically and mentally. He was a little unsettled in Dubai which is why we didn´t go for the Sheema Classic and he was a bit lost when he came to Newmarket.'His profile was nearly there and he has just needed this win to get him to that point. The Irish Champion Stakes might be next for him, but we haven´t really talked it over with Sheikh Mohammed. He´s in all the obvious races - the Arc and Breeders´ Cup as well. This horse goes on any ground, whether it is bottomless or very fast.'This has been a wonderful year, we´ve got good older horses that can compete in all the top races and our three-year-olds have been better this season than last year. We have been placed in all the classics so far with the likes of Rule Of Law, Punctilious and Snow Ridge. We have more depth in that department so we could be positive for the first half of the season, but from now on we will be looking to the older horses to carry the flag.'Sheikh Mohammed added: 'The sky is now the limit, we will take him all over Europe and America which means the Arc and the Breeders´ Cup Turf and he is a very special horse.'The Coronation Cup was just a stepping stone - he was not really ready but he improved to win the Hardwicke and he is only just peaking now. The sky is the limit with him. I would put him right up there with Daylami, Swain and Lammtarra.'Trainer Saeed bin Suroor added: 'In the morning he doesn´t show a lot, he just does what you ask him. But this was very similar to how he won his last race here.'I will talk to Sheikh Mohammed but there are lots of big races for him including the Arc, Irish Champion Stakes then later on the Breeders´ Cup and Japan Cup. I think the Japan Cup would be good for him because you need a horse that handles good-to-firm or firm ground and gets a mile and a half. And Doyen has the class.'Sulamani ran a good race to be third and Crisford added: 'We knew the ground wasn´t right for him today but I knew it was safe. If it came up softer at York we might think about going there.'Bin Suroor added: 'Sulamani ran a really good race and I was very happy with him.'
