Dewhurst a possible for Casamento Casamento entered the frame for the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket next month following an admirable effort in the National Stakes on Saturday. The Sheikh Mohammed-owned colt, trained by Michael Halford, put up an eyecatching display in the Group One at the Curragh after winning a Tipperary maiden on his only previous start. After doing the donkey work in front, he looked cooked when headed two furlongs out only to find more reserves which got him within a head of the winner Pathfork, the pair pulling five lengths clear of the third horse, Zoffany. "He's fine, he ate up and there's not a bother on him," said the County Kildare handler. "It was a tremendous performance for a horse having only his second racecourse appearance. He's very brave and a very exciting prospect. "He's got great qualities. He's a big, long-striding colt and got through the ground well and we think there is plenty more to come from him. "We'll give the Dewhurst some consideration. I'll speak to the team and see what we are going to do but it is certainly worth thinking about at this point in time."
