Distinction Arrives Down Under

Distinction is reported to have settled in well ahead of his run in Australia´s Emirates Melbourne Cup on November 1.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained six-year-old arrived safely on Tuesday following a smooth flight from Britain when his travelling companions were Vinnie Roe and Franklins Gardens.

'He travelled really well and Sir Michael is very happy with him,' said Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.

'He´s such a remarkable horse. All we want now is a clear run through to the Cup.'

Distinction, winner of this summer´s Goodwood Cup, was a creditable sixth to back-to-back winner Makybe Diva in the Flemington showpiece last year.
