Dogora goes back to basics Willie Mullins appears to have found Dogora an excellent opportunity to get off the mark over fences in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse. The Rich Ricci-owned six-year-old was a smart juvenile hurdler a couple of seasons ago, but a decent run behind Bright New Dawn at Punchestown aside, his career over fences so far has been largely disappointing. That said, he has been highly tried this season, plying his trade in competitive handicaps like the Troytown Chase, the Paddy Power Chase and the Boylesports Chase, and this is easily his easiest assignment of the campaign. It will be disappointing if he is unable to see off the veteran Boxing Along and consistent pair Kilcarry Bridge and Smokey Joe Joe. There are one or two big names on show in the Bambury Bookmakers Hunters Chase, with Mossey Joe heading the list for Enda Bolger and Barry Connell. The 12-year-old has looked a shadow of his former self since being bought for £160,000 in January of last year and only made it as far as the first fence at Leopardstown a fortnight ago. However, he certainly has the class to win a race of this nature if Bolger can rekindle his enthusiasm. Perhaps Mossey Joe's most interesting opponent is Two Rockers, who makes his first start under Rules for Adrian Maguire. A former talented hurdler for Alan King in Britain, the eight-year-old is three from four in Irish point-to-points and would likely have won at Dungarvan in January had he not unseated Declan Queally at the final fence. The Bambury Bookmakers Mares Handicap Hurdle appears wide-open, with course and distance winner Missyspet, Killultagh Sarah and Aunt Nora bringing good recent form to the table. The Crafty Butcher heads the weights for the attheraces.com Exclusive Barry Geraghty Blog Handicap Hurdle and has plenty on his plate conceding weight to the likes of Bally Longford, who reverts to the smaller obstacles having filled the runner-up spot over fences the last twice. Newcomers from the Mullins (An Dearg Mor) and Gordon Elliott (Casual Approach) yards could be the two to focus on in the bumper.
