Donnas - Chance if everything goes right

Noel Meade is confident Donnas Palm can bounce back to form in the Grade Two Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

The five-year-old has won twice from six outings over obstacles, as well as turning in creditable placed efforts behind top novices Hurricane Fly and Mikael D'Haguenet.

Meade is still scratching his head about his gelding's most recent flop at Thurles at February but could not be happier with his recent homework.

"We couldn't really put our finger on why he ran so bad the last day but it just wasn't his running and he seems in good enough shape now," said Meade.

"Kempes looks the one to beat but Donnas Palm's work is good, he seems well and he has the form in the book to suggest he has a chance if everything goes right."

Meade is double-handed in the two-mile contest with Fisher Bridge looking to put a lacklustre display in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham behind him.

"For Fisher Bridge it was a toss-up between this race and one of the handicaps but we came down on this race because the handicap looks like it's going to be very competitive," the trainer continued.

"He is in there to take his chance as well so hopefully he will run a nice race."
