Donnas Palm makes winning chase debut

Noel Meade's purple patch continued at Wexford today when his Donnas Palm , under stable jockey Paul Carberry, made a winning chase debut in the Royal Marine Hotel Beginners Chase, which unfortunately was run in thick fog.

The contest looked a fair event for its type on paper and while the result may well prove informative in time, viewing of the contest was restricted to only a few glimpses of the runners. In the end, Donnas Palm had three and a half lengths to spare over Gates Of Rome .

Carberry later said “jumping was the main thing today and Donnas Palm did that well. He should be good enough for graded company over fences.”
