Another horse delivered before the final flight gave Ruby Walsh a double at Punchestown, but he was made to work hard by Robbie Power.

The jockeys were on board Lady Of Glencoe (5/2) and Ellaway Rose (16/1) respectively, in the two mile mares maiden hurdle.

Power’s mount outran her odds by making most of the running. He was hard at work on her turning in though and it looked only a matter of time before Walsh and Lady Glencoe swooped by.

Ellaway Rose though made a fight of it after the last before giving way late on by two lengths. Stay In My Heart at 10/1 came in third with David Casey in the saddle.

Dessie Hughes trains the five-year-old daughter of Marju and he said: “She likes that ground. Ruby thinks she wants further as she was top of her head most of the way.

“We’ll go two and a half miles and see what mark the handicapper gives her.”

The favourite Ourbeautifuldream saw money earlier today from 7/4 to 5/4, but was weak on track from 9/10 to 5/4. She was found wanting at the business end of the race, beaten eight and a half lengths in fourth.
