Dream back in business for Hackett Donnrua Dream bounced back to winning ways when claiming the 0-100 handicap hurdle at Limerick. Ray Hackett’s charge had been pulled up on his last outing at Fairyhouse but attracted support today, going to post a 17/2 shot having been as big as 22/1. He travelled well to take a narrow lead going through the wings of the second-last, which was omitted, but was soon tackled by Wild Wild Wind. There was little between the pair going to the last, and both were slightly untidy, but Donnrua Dream pulled out plenty on the run-in for Liam Quinlan to record a two-and-a-half length win. Gear Change Sparks Revival The winner was sporting first-time blinkers and a tongue-tie today. He was recording his first win since March 2022. "He deserved it as he is really honest. It took us a while to figure him out and, while he never made a noise or anything, we just decided to put a tongue-tie on him which made an awful difference to his work at home,” said Hackett. "We had been stretching him a bit too far in his races but brought him back in trip today, and the fact that he handles heavy ground meant we could go down the inside to save lengths.
