See also » Dream back in business for Hackett He deserved it as he is really honest. It took us a while to figure him out and while he never made a noise or anything, we just decided to put a tongue-tie on him, which made an awful difference to his work at home,. We had been stretching him a bit too far in his races but brought him back in trip today and the fact that he handles heavy ground, meant we could go down the inside to save lengths. The four-member syndicate are local and we'll run the horse back quick enough, with the ground being so favourable. Ray Hackett, trainer
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Big Dee, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have pulled a shoe and was found to have overreached when examined post race
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the riders first approach to the starter, involving Ferdia, ridden by Brian Barry, Marelly, ridden by C.M Hogan, Dontcavein, ridden by E. Walsh, Las Brisas Boy, ridden by K.E Buckley, Le Fanu, ridden by Josh Williamson, Donnrua Dream, ridden by L. Quinlan, Falcon Park, ridden by G. Brouder, Glens Sensation, ridden by J.G. Gilligan, and Wild Wild Wind, ridden by H.J. Horgan, concerning the false start
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Brian Barry stated that he was sitting into the saddle in an attempt to stop his mount. C.M Hogan stated that his mount became agitated before the road when he took a check back, he further added that he squeezed his mount after the road crossing. E. Walsh stated that he couldn't clearly see the flag for the first three or four strides but attempted to pull up when he could. K.E Buckley stated that he thought the starter was going to let them go on the first approach. Josh Williamson stated that he obeyed the starters order as best as possible attempting to stop his mount. L. Quinlan stated that he thought they were clear to approach the starter and that the race should have been started. G. Brouder stated that he tried to take back when his mount felt pressure from the middle and broke into a canter. He further added that his mount wears headgear and can be difficult. J.G. Gilligan stated that his mount locked on to go with the others. H.J. Horgan stated that his mount broke into a canter. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Brian Barry, C.M Hogan, E. Walsh, Josh Williamson, L. Quinlan, J.G. Gilligan and H.J. Horgan to be in breach of Rule 208.(iii)(b) (put a Horse into a canter) and having considered their clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended them for one raceday. The Raceday Stewards also found K.E Buckley to be in breach of Rule 208.(iii)(b) (put a Horse into a canter) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) suspended him for two racedays. They also acknowledged the accuracy and honesty of his evidence. The Raceday Stewards also found G. Brouder to be in breach of Rule 208.(iii)(b) (put a Horse into a canter) and having considered his record in this regard (third offence) suspended him for three racedays
C.P. Millar, rider of Big Dee, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly and pulled up
J.G. Gilligan, rider of Glens Sensation, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly and pulled up
H.J. Horgan, rider of Wild Wild Wind, trained by M.A.Cahill, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung slightly left in the home straight
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Ray Hackett, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Donnrua Dream, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ray Hackett stated that the drop back in trip and first time application of blinkers today may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the report given.
