Dromard pulled away in fine style to make an impressive winning debut in the concluding bumper at Gowran Park.

Willie Mullins won the race, named in honour of his late friend Dr Brendan Doyle, for the fourth successive year as the Doctor Dino gelding scooted clear inside the final furlong.

Patrick Mullins moved up to dispute after half-a-mile on the 10/11 favourite and he led at halfway.

His mount travelled strongly turning for home and was asked for an effort when Siege Of Carthage pressed two furlongs from home.

Dromard galloped on strongly in the closing stages to score by a commanding 21 lengths.

"He's a lovely big horse and we just couldn't get him ready in time for Cheltenham. When we saw the Doc's bumper, we put him aside for that. He looks a real nice prospect,” said Mullins.

"I was worried as Josh Halley's horse was running a cracker, but this fellow is by Doctor Dino and he's a horse I like.

“They don't normally win on this heavy ground but this fellow is a big, old-fashioned chaser type and he relished it.

"If the ground doesn't get too dry in the spring, we would keep him for Fairyhouse or Punchestown.”
