Duff set for Newmarket Challenge Duff is on target for a third crack at the Victor Chandler Challenge Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday. Trainer Edward Lynam reports his seven-year-old stable stalwart to be in fine shape and is hoping the rain stays away from Headquarters. "He runs on Saturday and Pat Smullen rides. He's in good form and as long as it stays dry he should run a good race," said the County Meath trainer. Duff will be aiming to improve on sixth in this race in 2008 and ninth the year before. Although he has not won for a year, he showed his well-being when a close fourth to Balthazaar's Gift in the Group Two Park Stakes at Doncaster last month.
