Dundalk Lucky 15: 'She looks capable of defying a recent 2lb rise under Colin Keane' Dundalk stages a competitive eight-race card on Wednesday afternoon through to early evening, the action getting under at 13.48 and concluding at 17.20. There’s some quality as well as quantity on show and we’ve provided our best four bets of the meeting. Lucky 15 Tips 13:48 Dundalk - Mahi Mahi 14:48 Dundalk - Bamako 15:48 Dundalk - Little Queenie 16:18 Dundalk - Someone’s Wish 13:48 Dundalk - Mahi Mahi There’s plenty of guesswork required in this opening maiden with plenty of newcomers in the field. However, MAHI MAHI showed up well when third on his introduction over a mile here last month and could be the type to improve for dropping back a furlong. The two-year-old has since left Adrian Murray for €42,000 since that debut, joining Stephen Thorne, who has been in good form of late, scoring with two of his last six runners. The selection ran to a Racing Post Rating of 72 on his introduction and he’s entitled to improve on that with that experience behind him and race fitness on his side. Useful 3lb claimer Jack Klearney is a positive booking. 14:48 Dundalk - Bamako BAMAKO has progressed well on turf in recent starts and, while an absence of 159 days isn’t ideal, he’s one of the more interesting runners in a competitive handicap. The Andrew Oliver-trained three-year-old was beaten a nose in a first-time visor over 7f at Down Royal in May and was awarded a race in the stewards’ room over the same course- and-distance in June, having received three significant bumps inside the final furlong. He’s yet to be placed in three previous tries at this track, but he ran well over 5f here on his debut and should act on the surface given his dam won a Grade 3 on dirt in the US. He’s up 2lb, but is still very handily treated off a mark of only 59. 15:48 Dundalk — Little Queenie Paul Flynn’s LITTLE QUEENIE is admirably consistent, particularly at this track, and she looks capable of defying a recent 2lb rise under Colin Keane. The six-year-old mare has won four times from 12 starts here, finishing placed on a further four occasions, including when collared in the final stride over this course-and-distance at the end of last month. Stall three looks good for her given her forward racing style and she’s surely going to be thereabouts, having won over course-and-distance off a 5lb higher mark last term. 16:18 Dundalk - Someone’s Wish Gordon Elliott has been in tremendous form with his jumpers of late, but he’s also enjoyed some success from limited ammunition on the Flat this season and SOMEONE’S WISH should give a good account. The selection is a useful dual-purpose performer, winning races on the Flat, over hurdles and over fences over the last 14 months. Runner-up over 1m4f here in January, he was arguably unfortunate not to win over 10.5f a week ago, beaten only a length into third, despite having had a rival gallop into the back of him around 3f from home. Stamina on the level is an unknown over this far, but he’s been campaigned up to 2m4f over jumps and clearly enjoys the artificial surfaces as his record of 2-6 on the AW highlights.
