Dundalk aim for Tryster Charlie Appleby believes next month's Diamond Stakes at Dundalk will present Tryster with an ideal opportunity at getting back to winning ways. The Group Three mile-and-a-quarter contest on October 2, which Appleby won 12 months ago with Cat O'Mountain, will be the next target for the four-year-old after he bypassed the September Stakes at Kempton on Saturday. After enjoying a profitable campaign on the all-weather, culminating with a victory in the Easter Classic at Lingfield in April, the son of Shamardal has not been seen since finishing last in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown in May. Appleby said: "Tryster is going to head over to Dundalk for the Diamond Stakes that Cat O'Mountain won last year. "We didn't want to take on Jack Hobbs over a mile and a half. We would have taken on the Kempton race had we not been tackling the likes of Jack Hobbs. "The race in Ireland looks an easier option while it is over a mile and a quarter. "He has had a nice break and is showing plenty of enthusiasm. "The key thing is we want to get his head back in front again." Tryster could be on his travels again following his trip to Ireland, with Appleby contemplating sending him out for a campaign in Dubai early next year. The Newmarket handler said: "There is a possibility of taking him out to Dubai, but that is not a given, it is just a thought. "If he doesn't go out there he will be doing his lion's share of racing over the winter months."
