Dupont Law lunged late to run out a cosy winner of the Bermingham Cameras Maiden at the Curragh, for trainer Ciaran Murphy.

Dylan Browne McMonagle got a good tune from the Le Havre gelding to launch his challenge inside the final furlong though.

The 18/1 shot got on top inside the final furlong and was pulling away to the line to record a two length win.

Dupont Law had been fourth in a Galway festival maiden on his sole start last season.

Murphy said:- “He’d a lovely run in Galway last year. He was a big weak horse at that time, so we just put him away.

“We brought him in plenty early and said we’d have a go here. I’m delighted with him — he’s as nice a one as we’ve had for a while.

“He hit the line strong and even though he was fit today, there is loads of improvement in him.

“I’d say he’s ground versatile as his action is very good and he really covers the ground.”
