Eagle lands first career win for Codys Trainer Ray Cody and his nephew Paddy teamed up with Harpy Eagle to win the Shamrock Farm Enterprises Handicap Hurdle at Wexford. A 12-race maiden coming into the contest, the Gillian Cody owned five-year-old was sent off 4/1 to make the breakthrough. Held up towards rear of the sextet in the early part of the race, the gelding moved closer to track the leaders going out on the final circuit. Disputing from four out, Harpy Eagle headed Ocean Murphy at the penultimate flight before keeping on well to win by three lengths. Ray Cody said: "I kind of fancied him today. I thought he ran a bit better than where he finished the last day. He just kind of caught himself too far back but I loved the way he finished out his race. He's been very good since. "We were fairly hopeful today that he'd be in the first three anyway. I was hoping he'd run real well. That's the best he has ever jumped and travelled. You'd never know when he's got his head in front, hopefully it's onwards and upwards with him."
