Ebadiyan Punchestown Bound

Oliver Brady's high-profile grey Ebadiyan is spot-on for the Ballymore Champion 4-Y-O Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival in three weeks' time.

The four-year-old was fancied by the County Monaghan trainer for the Triumph Hurdle but ran out at the second-last flight when still in the lead.

Brady took the ex-John Oxx gelding to the Curragh on Sunday for a tune-up on the level in the two-mile Newbridge Parishes Charity Day Race, in which he ran with credit to be second to Zarinava, beaten only a length and a half.

"He ran a good race," said Brady.

"There were only the two of them in it at the end and when you consider he gave the mare 10lb, and she is a year older than him, it was a good effort.

"Everything is fine, he came out of the race without a bother and will go to Punchestown now, where I expect him to run a big race."
