Elliott's Samui returns to winning ways Twice Royal Ascot-placed Samui (6/4 favourite) registered a first success since January 2025 today, landing Punchestown’s William Hill Challenge Series Hurdle for champion jockey Jack Kennedy, trainer Gordon Elliott and owner Allan Snow. The Flat-bred seven-year-old had finished third and second, respectively, in staying races at Royal Ascot at the 2025 meeting and, having finished third at Listed level over hurdles earlier this month, today scored a comfortable four and a half lengths win over Intense Approach . Elliott reported "It was a lovely opportunity for him and he enjoyed himself. He's an honest old horse and you can run him over any trip. “I’m delighted to get his head back in front and we'll run him in all those Grade 2s and 3s." Quotes from John O’Riordan
