Elliott pleased with Scoundrel Gordon Elliott was pleased with Lord Scoundrel's performance in chasing home the exciting Sizing John at Punchestown on Sunday. Lord Scoundrel brought an unbeaten chase record into the Craddockstown Novice Chase after completing a hat-trick in a Grade Three at Cork. But his trainer was not surprised to see him come up short against Sizing John, a Grade One winner over hurdles last season and placed behind Douvan in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham and the Herald Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown. Elliott said in his Boylesports blog: "Arkle hope Sizing John beat Lord Scoundrel into second on Sunday and looked very good in doing so. "He got tired from the last home but he'd want to be beating Lord Scoundrel by that margin to be considered a Grade One horse. "My horse couldn't have done any more than what he did. He jumped and stayed and did everything right. "I'd imagine he'll make a much better novice chaser than he was a novice hurdler, he looks a nice horse."
