Andrew Balding hopes to have Group One winner Elm Park back in his yard early next year after he missed this campaign through injury.

The four-year-old, winner of the Royal Lodge Stakes and the Racing Post Trophy as a juvenile, has not been sighted since finishing fifth behind Solow in last year's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot. .

Balding said: "Elm Park is currently recuperating at Longholes Stud but hopefully he will be back in the new year ready for a campaign next season."

He added: "We've not discussed plans for him and I imagine I will know more near Christmas time. He had a tendon injury.

"It was not a severe one, but the owners decided to take a conservative approach as he is a high-class horse."
