Elyaadi up for Lonsdale fight

Elyaadi is the sole Irish challenger in Saturday's Weatherbys Insurance Lonsdale Cup at York.

John Queally's mare is among 10 declarations for the Group 2 two-mile contest.

The dual purpose performer has been runner-up on both her Flat outings this season, including chasing home Swingkeel in the Queen Alexander Stakes at Ascot.

Last-year's winner Opinion Poll represnets Godolphin and is joined by John Gosden's Duncan and William Haggas's Harris Tweed, whilst James Given's Group 2 winner Dandino is another who should provide stiff opposition.

David O'Meara's Blue Bajan and Gary Moore's Bergo make the line-up.

The field is completed by Highland Castle, Chiberta King and Allied Powers.
