Assuming a prominent position, Paddy The Hare eventually weakened to finish eighth behind Bobowen and the race has left a mark. Foxtrot syndicate director Daniel Abraham said: "Sadly Paddy hit a fence in the Summer Plate and has bruised a fetlock joint. "He'll have to have a break so he can't go to Ireland, which is a shame. "There is a Listed race back at Market Rasen at the end of September (28) and we might aim him for that. "He's still a novice and we hope he can continue to improve."
