Phillip Enright doubled up at Wexford when Dontdooddson sprang a 25/1 surprise in Division 2 of the WTW Willis Handicap Hurdle.

The 12-year-old veteran was competing off a lowly mark of 72, but nobody told him that as he came with his challenge two out.

He was on terms with Paul's Dream over the last and stayed on best in the closing stages to oblige by three-quarters of a length from the 15/2 runner-up. Kaikoura (11/2) came home third, beaten four and a-half lengths by the winner.

Dontdooddson last passed the post first in a handicap chase at Killarney in October 2021.

Enright also took the preceding race on 10/3jf Chosen Shant This gave him a double that paid just over 115.5/1.

Darren Collins said: "We thought he was in good form at home. A few of our horses weren't running well, so we were kind of worried going all the way to Wexford with a horse that didn't run that well over three miles the last time.

"We dropped him back to two miles this evening which is probably his distance, but at 12 we thought he wouldn't be quick enough for it. He had bottom-weight, though, and we asked for Phillip to ride him as he won on him before. He said he would and that he'd do 10 stone, so fair play to him. We are delighted with him.

"That's my sixth winner altogether and he was my first ever runner. I said that he'd win a race, but that's two and a half years ago! It's great that he did win and I always thought that he had the ability.

"If someone wants him, he is for sale. If anyone in England wants him, he might win more over there. This could be his day and that's it. He shows plenty at home and loves the game still."
