Expensive Hydrogen out again on Thursday Hydrogen, the most expensive yearling bought at auction in 2012, is set to have his second racecourse outing at Chelmsford City on Thursday. While nearly all eyes will be on the Cheltenham Festival, trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam and owners Qatar Racing Limited will be hoping to see a very small return on their investment in the Trimingham Maiden Stakes over 10 furlongs. The Galileo colt cost Sheikh Fahad's operation 2.5million guineas but he failed to reach the track as a juvenile and had just one outing last term. Through no fault of his own his Newmarket debut created quite a stir, but the close relation to Derby winner Authorized could finish only sixth of nine. However, connections retain all their faith and have kept him in training. Chapple-Hyam said: "He's just needed plenty of time to fill his frame, that's all. "He'll run on Thursday, that's the intention anyway. Andrea Atzeni (Qatar Racing's retained jockey) will ride him. "He hasn't sat on him as yet, but I'm hoping he will have done before Thursday."
