Express to miss Epsom Dunboyne Express has been ruled out of the Investec Derby with connections waiting on the ground easing before making further plans for the Shamardal colt. Kevin Prendergast's charge ran a fine race to finish fifth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas last weekend but has been ruled out of a trip to Epsom. "He's all right after the race, but the ground was too firm so he's not going to run again until we get a change in the ground," said the County Kildare handler. "He's definitely not going to Epsom. "We'll have to play it by ear. It will be determined by the weather. Fast ground is no good to him, he just can't handle it. "I'm probably going to step him up in trip to a mile and a quarter plus.”
