FAIRYHOUSE EASTER FESTIVAL LATEST CASUALTY

Hopes of an early resumption of racing on the domestic front were dashed this evening when it was announced that the Irish Grand National meeting, due to begin at Fairyhouse on Easter Sunday, has been postponed.

In a brief statement, the IHA have said that, following a discussion with the racecourse and the Turf Club, the meeting cannot be run on the scheduled dates due to the uncertainty regarding a decision on a formal date for the resumption of racing.

Tonight's press release went on to say that an announcement would be made later this week by the IHA regarding the rescheduling of the feature events at Fairyhouse.

There was no mention of the meetings set to be run at Leopardstown and Cork on Easter Saturday (April 14th).
