Fairyhouse on weather alert Fairyhouse's double-header on Tuesday and Wednesday is under threat because of the wintry weather. Officials are due to check the track this morning, with snow the problem. Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: "They were unfit for racing on Sunday morning as there was a covering of snow on the course, and will be looking at the situation this morning." Wednesday's meeting could feature the eagerly-awaited chasing debut of Mikael D'Haguenet (entered in the 2m 5f beginners chase), who has not been seen since landing back-to-back Grade One novice hurdle wins last spring. Yesterday's meeting at Naas was the latest to fall victim to the extended cold spell, and temperatures are forecast to remain low throughout this week.
