Fairyhouse winner Realtra targets Group One Roger Varian is keen to give Realtra a second crack at Group One glory in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville later this month. After gaining the second Group Three success of her career in the Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse on Wednesday, the five-year-old is set to return to the highest level in France. Her only previous appearance in Group One company was in last year's Sun Chariot Stakes and she was not beaten far into fifth place. Varian said: "I was really pleased to see Realtra bounce back to form in Ireland. She is very good on her day. "She has now won two Group Three races and two Listed races. She has a powerful CV. "I would love to get a bit of Group One black type on her CV so we might have a crack at the Rothschild now." Defoe could be sent north of the border for his attempt to complete a hat-trick of victories for this season, with the Newmarket handler contemplating an outing in the Listed Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton. After winning the London Gold Cup at Newbury on his return, the son of Dalakhani backed that up with a solid weight-carrying performance in a handicap at York last weekend. "I love this horse. He is progressing well and has got a lovely attitude. He was good at York carrying a lot of weight to victory," said Varian. "He might go for the Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton now."
