Fanunalter glory as Carlton flops There was a big shock in the Transformers & Rectifiers Summer Mile at Ascot as 33-1 chance Fanunalter landed the Group 2 contest under Olivier Peslier. The race revolved around 4-7 favourite Carlton House for The Queen on his drop back to a mile and he was a pretty keen in the early stages under Ryan Moore. Although he managed to hit the front two furlongs out, those early exertions took a toll as the winner swept to the lead down the outer and was able to hold off a late thrust up the far rail from Pastoral Player by a neck. Tullius kept on for third as Carlton House eventually dead-heated for fourth with Cai Shen.
