Noel Fehily could possibly return to action as early as the weekend after recovering from keyhole surgery to have his appendix removed earlier this month.

The top jump jockey expects to have a better idea in the next couple of days when he might be able to be back in the saddle.

“I’m feeling good and getting there,” he said on Wednesday.

“I’m looking into riding out and if all goes well I might possibly be back at the weekend or next week.

“It depends how I get on in the next couple of days.”

Fehily has been sidelined since riding at Huntingdon on January 11.

He gave up his mounts at Kempton’s Lanzarote Hurdle meeting the following day as he was suffering from stomach pains, and was subsequently rushed to hospital.
